We believe that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are a precious gift from God. Founded by Nicole Alston, who has been actively involved with the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) community since 1998, our nonprofit is
dedicated to creating innovative solutions and providing steadfast support. Our mission is to ensure that every individual with developmental disabilities can live a life full of joy, purpose, and
fulfillment, and we are committed to working tirelessly, day by day, to make that a reality.
Fiscal sponsorship is a relationship in which an unincorporated group or project seeking to carry out charitable activities affiliates with an existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that shares a compatible mission
A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects.
Using a fiscal sponsorship arrangement offers a way for a cause to attract donors even when it is not yet recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). In essence the fiscal sponsor serves as the administrative “home” of the cause. Charitable contributions are given to the fiscal sponsor, which then grants them to support the cause.
Nicole A. Alston, born in Baltimore, Maryland, is a shining example of faith, resilience, and love for her community. Raised by her maternal grandmother, she overcame challenges with unwavering faith in God, graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and building a loving family with her husband, Frederick Alston, and their seven children.
Nicole’s dedication to faith led her to active roles in her church, where she inspired her family and others with the promise of Romans 8:28. Her life took a pivotal turn in 2014 when her daughter Kasmir survived a life-threatening accident. Defying grim prognoses, Nicole’s tireless care helped Kasmir achieve a miraculous recovery. This experience deepened Nicole’s compassion for individuals with disabilities, leading her to establish His Keepsake, Inc., a nonprofit that empowers and embraces the DDA Community. Nicole’s story is a testament to the transformative power of faith and love, leaving a legacy of hope and inspiration.
